"Have Trombone, Will Travel"

Hello. My name is Tom Billing. I recently retired after 35+ years of public school teaching (as a band director) and now would like to find more work as a professional musician. I always have had a good work ethic and am in great health.

I have played trombone (and double on flute) as a professional musician since 1965 and have played 3000 services since. I play with many local dance bands and am free to travel anywhere to play even more. I also have a great deal of show-playing experience in Springfield and Dayton, OH. I read and fake tunes as well as improvise jazz solos. I pride myself on keeping my musical skills sharp (I practice daily) and on being extremely professional in the musical performance arena. If I need to play a certain style to fit the need, I will do it. If I have to play certain tunes, I will be more than happy to do so. I am well-versed on the correct tempos for tunes and am very familiar with a wide variety of musical styles and songs.

I also am a composer/arranger in jazz band and concert band settings and use Finale when writing music,  My composition "Essex Reflections" is now published by Ludwig Masters.

Please email me to obtain more information and to receive reference information about me.
